The prosecutor's office have opened a criminal case after the FEMEN protest in support of Pussy Riot!
On the day of Pussy Riot's sentencing, the women's movement FEMEN expressed support and showed respect to their Russian colleagues from the Russian group Pussy Riot. In a sign of solidarity with the victims of the Putin's regime, Femen activist Inna Shevchenko cut down a huge cross in Kiev's Independence Square with a chainsaw. Femen demands that the church stop its support of the dictatorship and its hindering of the development of democracy and freedom of women. FEMEN says that if the Russian activists will be sentenced to prison terms, FEMEN will continue protesting Putin and Russian orthodox patriarch Gundyaev.
