Revellers called ‘FETEN’ dressed as FEMEN activist enjoy a costume party at Circulo de Bellas Artes on February 15, 2015 in Madrid, Spain. The carnival, which is believed to come from pagan festivals during the middle ages, takes place across Spain before Lent. This years Madrid’s Carnival theme will be the novel ‘Don Quijote de la Mancha’ (Don Quixote) written by Miguel de Cervantes. The festival was forbidden for 44 years in Madrid during Franco’s dictatorship.
