The action of FEMEN at the Almudena Cathedral in Madrid was reopened again by the Spanish justice.
The criminal complaint by the Christian Lawyers Association is accepted by the Court. This text says that the action of FEMEN is a call to religious hatred; the event is a frontal attack on religious freedom, even if the temple was opened as a museum at the time the action taken place, and we attacked the freedom of worship of all Catholics.
Of course FEMEN appealed these charges and requested that the two women involved are acquitted and the event has been peaceful as it was.
The action of FEMEN although was not violent and defended a law that guarantees free access to abortion, even if the action was taken in a space funded by public money from the Spanish State.
Feminists’ actions are persecuted, but religious violence against women is not.
The influence of the Catholic lobby in the political system is not seen as a threat to democracy. That is why we will continue this fight, a fight that is just and peaceful.
Hatred comes from Catholicism, not feminism!
