FEMEN Protest Against Zeman: The Court Said It’s Word

The court in the case of Angelina Diash, FEMEN activist who on 12.01.18 protested against Milosz Zeman, the pro-Russian president of the Czech Republic, has ended.

By decision of the court, Angelina is banned from visiting the Czech Republic for one year, she is obliged to leave the country within 3 days before January 17. Angelina was released in the courtroom.

Thanks to the advocate of the activist, Lucie Hrda, the initial sentence – up to two years of imprisonment – was contested. Angelina and her advocate insisted that the purpose of the action was to draw attention to the fact that the re-election of the pro-Russian Zeman could threaten the sovereignty of the Czech Republic. The sextremist did not attack or threaten the safety of the President.

Завершился суд по делу Анжелины Диаш – активистки FEMEN, которая 12.01.18 протестовала против Милоша Земана – пророссийского президента Чехии.

Решением суда Анжелине запрещен въезд в Чехию на 1 год, она обязана покинуть страну в течении 3-х дней до 17 января. Анжелина была освобождена в зале суда.

Благодаря адвокату активистки, Люции Грда, первоначальний приговор – тюремный срок до двух лет лишения свободы – удалось оспорить. Анжелина и ее адвокат настаивали на том, что цель акции – обратить внимание на то, что переизбрание пророссийского Земана может угрожать суверенитету Чехии. Секстремистка не нападала и не угрожала безопасности Президента.
