FEMEN Protest at the South Korean Embassy in Paris

FEMEN protest against this scandalous gender inequality. Sending support via the South Korean embassy in Paris to Korean women and feminism.

The percentage of criminals guilty of hiding cameras for sexual purposes: 98% men, 2% women. Still, illegal filming of women is used by men as a “masturbation tool,” but the police do not punish the male perpetrators who shoot and distribute these videos. Furthermore, even if victims themselves give the offender’s information and demand punishment to the police, their answer is “We cannot find him with that little information” or “He will not be punished much even though we catch him.” As a reponse to this injustice, on May 19th 2018, women gathered in Hyehwa, Seoul and held a protest against illegal video shooting. It was the largest feminist demonstration gathering more than 10,000 women. They accused the misogyny of Korea by shouting slogans such as “If you have a penis then you are not guilty but if you don’t, you are” and “when a man is the victim of hidden cameras, you see it on the news – but when a woman is the victim of hidden cameras, then you see it on the porno sites”.

We demand “SAME CRIME, SAME INVESTIGATION, SAME PUNISHMENT”.

The women who gathered and supported the protest give courage and power to each other. The feminism momentum is once again ignited and won’t be easily diminished, it will lead to increasingly bigger fires, ultimately transforming the present nonsense society. From now on we will not suffer again. Women’s anger will continue until we obtain the same rights as men everywhere in the world!

 

FEMEN 은 이 수치스러운 성 불평등에 항의한다. 나아가 파리 주재 한국 대사관 앞에서의 시위를 통해 한국 여성과 페미니즘에 지지와 연대를 보낸다.

불법촬영 가해자 성별: 남성 98%, 여성 2%. 지금 이 순간에도 여성을 대상으로 한 불법 촬영물이 남성들의 ‘딸감’으로 소비되고 있지만, 경찰은 그것을 찍고 유포한남성 가해자들을 처벌하지 않는다. 피해자들이 스스로 가해자의 정보를 알아와 처벌을 요구해도 돌아오는 답변은 “그런 거로는 못 찾아요.” 혹은 “잡아봤자 처벌도제대로 안 받을 텐데.” 등의 말이다. 그래서 우리는 5월 19일, 서울 종로구 혜화에 모여 “불법촬영 편파수사 규탄시위”를 열었다. 이는 대략 만 명 이상의 ‘여성만’ 모인, 페미니즘을 의제로 한 최대 집회였다. “유좆무죄, 무좆유죄”, “남자가 당하면 네이버 실검, 여자가 당하면 야동 사이트 실검”, “동일범죄, 동일수사, 동일처벌” 등의 구호를 외치며 한국의 여성 혐오를 고발하고 나섰다.

한국 경찰 및 정부는 “동일범죄, 동일수사, 동일처벌” 보장하라!

이곳에 모였던 혹은 이들을 지지하는 여성들은 서로의 용기이자 힘이다. 이번에 또 한 번 지펴진 페미니즘의 불꽃은 쉽사리 사그라지지 않고 점점 더 큰불로 이어져지금의 말도 안 되는 사회를 변혁시킬 것이다. 이제 우리는 더는 당하지 않는다. 이렇게 여성들의 분노는 이 세상을 바꿔 나갈 때까지 꺼지지 않는다!
