Two FEMEN activists interrupted the concert of Woody Allen and his jazzband, which took place in Hamburgs Elbphilharmonie.
To remind the world and the jazz fans sitting in the audience that Woody Allen is not just the neurotic and charming director, musician and actor but also seems to like sticking his fingers into his daughters.
The activists’ bodies where covered with the words of Allen’s assaulted daughter Dylan who can’t be silenced neither by the sounds of his clarinets nor by his fame and authority.
If a perpetrator is a much celebrated so called artist genius, then the supposed social value of his creativity has more weight in society than the statements of women who are “only” women and daughters in his “possession”. If the accused is an important part of the canon of the international film history, his cultural and social status seems to be inviolable.
Even if the case is 24 years old, his adoptive daughter Dylan still suffers today. Abuse leaves behind injured bodies and injured souls, even if cases such as this become time-barred and the public forgets or ignores them. Three years ago, Dylan broke her silence and accused the public and other artists of continuing to praise Allen, despite his deeds.
The references and statements of the parts involved in this case allow justified suspicions in many aspects, however, all was largely ignored by companies and the press.
– The abuse took place on the attic according to Dylan. According to Allen’s own statements no one had ever entered there. After Dylan’s hair was found on the attic, he changed his statement.
– He refused to take part in a police lie-detection test when the
detection test he had previously imposed was rejected by his own legal team.
– Allen took part in therapy 1991 because of the inappropriate
behavior towards Dylan.

Dylan argues that there are certain arguments in a traditional chauvinist tradition:
As a woman her judgment will be called a female
emotionality inherent in her, and her mother Mia Farrow will be subjected to motives such as jealousy and revenge, and she the daughter is even accused of not being able to distinguish between reality and “fantasy”.

You only have to look at the press rhetoric. Female celebrities can get scandal marked and condemned for the rest of their lives for some minor thing they did as wild teenagers, like a “nipplegate”, while sexual abuse made by Roman Polanski, Klaus Kinski, or R’Kelly is of little interest, or rather it is an eccentric facet of their brilliant artistic personality.
A real scandal is male celebrities and culture, create
abuse, rape and humiliation of women, with men who use their power and popularity to silence (in this case many and credible) voices against them.
Another scandal is that the society and the press tolerate this
unacceptable behavior and ignore it until the accumulation of the witness statements and references, such as in the case of Bill Cosby, have reached such a dimension that they are impossible to ignore further on. And even then, with male celebrities, the motto is always and first of all, innocent until proof of guilt.
Violence against women is not to be ignored, is not tolerable and not excusable, even if the accused is called Woody Allen.
FEMEN does not want to be a part of such a society, which protects and cheers the perpetrators.
FEMEN disapproves of the fact that the Elbphilharmonie offers a pedophile a stage.
No condemnation is no proof of innocence.
